Every buy is food dropped on the agar. The blob finds it, wires it into its network and grows.
Physarum polycephalum is a slime mould: a single yellow cell with millions of nuclei and no brain. It spreads over the agar as a web of veins, finds food, keeps the paths between food sources and lets the rest dry up. Given oat flakes in the shape of the cities around Tokyo, it grew a network close to the real railway.
The dish runs in your browser. Every visitor has their own dish; the market feeds all of them at the same time. $BLOB launches on Pons, on Robinhood Chain.
The console only changes your own dish. The market changes everyone's.
Tip: click anywhere on the agar while holding Shift to drop food right there.
| In the dish | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Buys become food | REAL | Live mode reads every trade of the token from Robinhood Chain: the Pons bonding curve, then its Uniswap pool. DexScreener is the fallback. |
| Food size from ETH | REAL | The ETH paid for the buy sets the food and its weight. |
| Buyer and transaction | REAL | A tagged food links to the buyer's wallet and the transaction on Blockscout. |
| Growth model | MODEL | Agent model of Physarum (Jeff Jones, 2010): tens of thousands of particles that sense, turn, move and lay a trail. |
| Finding food, wiring it in | MODEL | Emerges from the model; nothing is scripted. |
| Rain = buyback | METAPHOR | Buys by the Pons buyback vault or the buyback wallet in the settings fall as a rain of specks. |
| Salt = burn | REAL | Tokens sent to the zero or dead address drop as salt. Salt kills part of the blob and that biomass is gone. |
| Spores seed new dishes | FICTION | Real sporangia need days and light. Here they come every few minutes. |
| Speed | FICTION | The real blob grows about a centimetre an hour. This is roughly a thousand times faster. |
